Pamela Parker

San Francisco's freshest soul sister, Pamela Parker, has just released her solo record "Beautiful Day". The CD is in digital stores and is for sale right now!!! Serving up a blend of juicy, bluesy, soulful, psychedelic music, Pamela sets out to deeply touch her audience with songs about life, love, and creating positive changes in the world. She has culminated this record from years of composition, personal relationships, schooling, and many life experiences. There is a stellar line-up on the record including performances by Bobby Lee Rodgers of The Codetalkers, Norwood Fisher of Fishbone & Trulio Disgracious, Dave Shul of Spearhead, Mark Calderone, Jordan Feinstein of The Ritual, Yari Mander of Gamelan X & Baterialucha, Ben Krames, Jacob Williamson, Jacob Thro, and Yoshi Ikeda. String arrangements and co-pruduction was done by Paul Minor. This record is number 3 for Pamela. The Music Connection Magazine says, "...Parker oozes organic soul in her performances and arrangements."

She has released 2 other records with a band she began in 2000, Roots A'Risin', which she has been the musical director of since it's inception. "Peace" and "Stripped Bare in Another World" are the names of the releases with RAR and have around 80% songs written by Pamela on each record. RAR will always remain a part of her life, as the circuit they started when Pamela was in college is still asking RAR to play shows.

As for her band out of San Francisco, there is a stellar crew involved in this: John Krimstock (from Lauryn Hill) plays lead guitar, Daria Johnson plays drums, Scott Thompson plays bass, Lady Chi sings background vox, Jordan Feinstein plays piano, and Pamela plays electric wah-wah guitar, piano and sings. Check show dates for the next time you can catch her band.

They are currenlty working on a new album called Carnival, featuring new songs by Pamela in the genre of Funk Soul Pop Rock, more akin to her rockin' live performances.

It has been said that, "Pamela enchants her audience through her unique combination of music and lyrics which stems from a wide range of influences such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Erykah Badu, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, Esthero, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ani Difranco, and so many more." According to One Love Lifestyles Magazine, she ³Škeeps you in the spot between bliss and reality.² Parker writes all of her songs, and is not only an acoustic singer/songwriter. She's an electric guitar rocking groovy soul sister who gives it to the world raw and uncut. ³She mesmerizes people with her powerful voice and skillful hands, both on guitar and piano,² says Kim Manning of George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars.

Pamela began touring about 9 years ago as front woman and musical director of East coast sensation Roots A'Risin', while raising a daughter, who is now 7, and going to school full-time for music production, opera, and jazz & classical piano & guitar. Roots A' Risin had the pleasure of being billed with some great acts such as Dark Star Orchestra, Mickey Hart Band, George Clinton & the P-Funk, Rusted Root, Keller Williams, The David Grisman Quintet, Bobby Lee Rodgers & The Codetalkers, Citizen Cope, Perpetual Groove, Donna Jean & The Zen Tricksters, Melvin Seals (JBG), Umphrey's McGee, Greyboy Allstars, Zero, Peter Rowan & Tony Rice, New Mastersounds, New Riders of the Purple Sage, David Gans, The Recipe, The Davisson Brothers, Boom Box, Wookie Foot and so many more.
